Advent is the lead up to Christmas and is a time of waiting. Sometimes we get caught up during the rush of preparing for Christmas and we forget to stop and take a break.Today stop and take the time to think about the real reason for Christmas and why we celebrate. Take a few minutes away from the busy rush.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

Writing Christmas cards

Remember the joy of opening up Christmas cards? If you haven’t already written your Christmas cards, on the third Sunday of advent take the time to sit down and write out Christmas cards to your family and friends rather than just sending a one line email or text message to wish them a Merry Christmas and let them know you’re thinking of them. They’ll greatly appreciate it.There’s nothing like receiving a Christmas card and knowing people are thinking of you during the Christmas season. If they live too far away and a card won’t get there in time, why not give them a call.

Christmas Gift Guide

Over the weekend I was browsing at Christmas gifts and I couldn’t resist my inner child. I know it’s not very creative but with some help from a little elf I’ve created this Christmas Gift Guide .

Firstly, some gifts for the glitter lovers like me. This was like glitter heaven for me. I love how the i phone case has an N on it. Unfortunately they only make them for i phone 6 at the moment. 😦

And I haven’t forgotten children whom might be reading this blog. You can’t go wrong with some classic board games or some Lego. They’ll get the whole family involved. Or if you’re after a bit of tech that’s not too expensive, I found this touch activated LED watch where you press the face to  see the time.

Pictionary and Jenga $25

For the tea and coffee drinkers. These keep cups will never grow old. You can get them in different sizes and colours and they’re good for the environment because you can reuse them. There’s even Star Wars ones available now for the males or for any Star Wars fans. And check out this cute tea infuser.

I spent some time thinking what exactly is this? It’s a bit pricey but it’s a pretty cute novelty gift. It’s called a Jab A Boo. You give it a squeeze and its hands come out like its playing peekaboo and its tongue sticks out too. You can get them in a Boo Bunny, Boo Bear, Boo dog or Boo cat. The Boo Bear and Bunny are my favourites.

This whale ice ball mold that makes your ice cube in the shape of a solid circle, although a little pricey at $15 is cute.

And finally for the Disney Queen’s out there. Yes, that’s also me.20171201_124549.jpg

Happy gift buying! And remember it’s the thought that counts, not how big an item is or the price.

Trying something new this Christmas?

20171201_105631 (3).jpg

I absolutely love getting crafty, getting my hands covered in paint and making an absolute mess with glitter, especially at Christmas time. I came across this quote on a wall while browsing for craft supplies and I thought, this is so true.  If you’ve never made a mistake in your life, you’ve probably never tried anything new. I am always trying out new things and they don’t always come out right on my first attempt. Like when I tried to make a loom band superhero and when I went to remove it from the loom the entire thing fell apart and it ended up being a pair of legs! Sometimes it’s OK to make mistakes and sometimes the only way to learn is to make a mistake.  After all, nobody is perfect. So this Christmas, why not get in the kitchen and try out that new cake recipe, or get crafty and make something for someone. You never know, a mistake may lead to something better than thought and it’s the thought that counts.

Festive Tree

It’s the first day of December which means just 24 sleeps till Christmas! Not that I’m counting down or anything . Even though it’s  pelting down rain,  I took the time to stop and look at the beauty around me and reflect on the beautiful day I had.

Earlier I took this photo of this tree while waiting under shelter. I can see my reflection on the wet ground. I watched as each individual rain drop slowly dripped off the leaves. While it may just be a tree it stood out to me and it looks beautiful all wrapped up in Christmas colored wool like a present. These are the little things in life we should appreciate. So today think about the little things in life which make you smile. 🙂 “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… it’s learning to dance in the rain”.
